What is RSS? 30/04/2010

RSS (most commonly expanded as Really Simple Syndication) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format.[2] An RSS document (which is called a "feed", "web feed",[3] or "channel") includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. Web feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place. RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web-based, desktop-based, or mobile-device-based. A standardized XML file format allows the information to be published once and viewed by many different programs. The user subscribes to a feed by entering into the reader the feed's URI or by clicking an RSS icon in a web browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new work, downloads any updates that it finds, and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds.

Have you ever thought I really should send out Christmas cards, Thank You Cards and Birthday cards to my clients. But just get too busy and never actually get around to doing it?. Well now there is no excuse with Send Out Cards your customers can get a real card and of gift in the mail that you send via the web. Send a Thank You card for just $1 including postage. Clients of mine who I have shown how to do this, have tripled their sales just by sending their clients Thank You cards after they have purchased from them. Unlike other forms of advertising or marketing that broadly target a number of potential customers. Appreciation marketing allow you to directly and personally contact your customers and let them know that you value their business.

I started doing this to promote my I.T Services company and now it has been so successful that I am putting the majority of my efforts into this business. It is not just about the money either it is quite rewarding when you get phone calls and e-mails from clients friends and family Thanking You for the cards that you have sent them. Last year I hand wrote 300 Christmas cards to my clients. This year it will take me ten minutes and they will all get a personalised card with a digitised version of my hand writing so it looks like I have written the card personally. So no more trips to the post office, no more hand writing cards, just a couple of clicks and it is all done. Not forgetting client birthdays either I get an automatic e-mail in the system reminding me of their birthday and also and e-mail reminder of the same.

So now there is not excuse for not acting on my promptings and sending out a card. It is so easy and so effective in increasing sales for existing customers and gaining sales from new customers. All for very little investment of time and money.

This system allows you to send cards and or gifts anywhere in the world all from the comfort of your own home or office. There is definitely no more excuse for forgetting to do clients Christmas cards, Thank You Cards or clients Birthday cards. The great thing about these is that the cards are of such a high quality if you were to buy comparable cards from a shop you would pay around $5-7 per card excluding postage. Apart from all of that if you do this as a business there is also a great side or full time income to be made from building a card sending network.

In todays' information rich society we get bombarded with e-mails and many other types of media. All we ever seem to get in the mail are bills.
To actually get a card for your birthday, christmas or as a thank you is rare and unique these days. Imagine how sending a card to show your clients that you really do appreciate them will set you apart from your competitors, the loyalty this will brings you and the increased sales for your business.
