Have you every thought, gee it would be great if I could organise my business, have access to my contacts and business info securely anywhere via the internet, on my mobile, PDA, or laptop and not have to worry about backups or computer crashes?. Well now you can, more an more business are switching to on-line software or webware for their business needs. So what are the differences between webware and traditional software packages, well webware is normally done as a Saas (Software As A Service Model) which means instead of paying hefty upfront fees for software licences to be installed on your computer you pay a small pay as you go rental fee for using the software per month. This is also generally based on the number of users, data storage and the number features that you require in the software. There are many vendors out there at the moment who can provide virtually any software that you need and use currently on your desktop such as accounting, e-mail, CRM(Customer Relationship Management), Office Suite Applications, Project management, video conferencing, database, web page design and much more. But what about security of my information on-line?. Well most of these applications allow you to connect to them via a secure connection and also require a user name and password. Some also even allow users rights management for example you may want staff to have a certain access level, managers on level and customers another level.
